Land Scarred by Time series. Oil and mud on board. Various sizes.

Plaster casts taken from the surface of the ground. The depth of these casts was caused by the severely wet winter of 2019/20 and the weight of the horses caused deep poaching of the saturated mud.

Revealing shape and form by shrouding. Naturally formed cracks in the ground during the summer months were revealed when an ancient trampoline was lifted from the ground where it had been abandoned.

Interested in the properties of peat and its preservative qualities I experimented by burying paper in the ground to record the natural composting and deterioration which occurs.

An area of poached earth in the field beside my house has been an abundant source of inspiration.

An exploration of material to understand the shape, form and the-between spaces.

Making Visible is a project exploring the hidden spaces, tunnels and runs made by voles in the ground.  Using synthetic material  poured into the holes and video footage I tried to capture these mysterious spaces.
