Listen to them Falling

Listen to them Falling comprises multiple strings of apples, wrapped in clay and suspended invisibly from the ceiling.  Hanging in space, the apples are caught in time, allowing their rotting to become performance and collaboration between the viewer,  fruit, and the space they inhabit.  Encased in clay, the apples’ new exterior skin seals their shape, texture and size.  While, as they decompose from the inside out, the nature of change is observed even while their final appearance remains unknown.  The process of decay is, therefore, part of the installation’s aesthetic language.
